Rachel is West Sussex Music’s Schools Singing Leader, bringing together young people across the county through all-inclusive singing programmes and supporting teachers in classroom music delivery.
Rachel works with headteachers, music subject leaders and non-specialist class teachers to develop confidence in singing delivery, to support schools with their school music development plan and to embed high quality, inclusive singing. She runs a comprehensive programme of CPD, bespoke support, co-curricular & extra-curricular opportunities, massed singing events and projects – such our annual programme of locality Big Sings and Little Big Sings – and advice on resources. Much of which is free!
Before joining West Sussex Music, Rachel has had more than a decade of experience performing , conducting, arranging and delivering music outreach programmes in multiple settings, from schools to refugee centres. She has worked on behalf of The Sixteen, Welsh National Opera, Guildhall Young Artists, Spitalfields Music, to name but a few; as well as being a choral practitioner for Voices Foundation, training teachers in classroom music delivery with a focus on singing and musicianship.
