Joe Giddey

Joe uses a variety of techniques which help students to communicate through music, while improving their skills, at whatever level they are working. In particular, Joe works with a range of musical styles, including classical, folk and jazz, and uses improvisation as a way of encouraging pupils to express their ideas and develop their technical skills, such as scales, often in small cello ensembles. Joe particularly enjoys the challenge of helping a pupil to overcome difficulties in playing in a way that is both imaginative and encouraging. Joe conveys his own enthusiasm for music in general, and the cello in particular, to his pupils, while making sure that appropriate progress is being made.

Joe has well-developed communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team. He is an enthusiastic and committed musician, with high levels of energy and a genuine interest in working with young people.
