Janet’s love and enthusiasm for music began at infant school in Bognor Regis and over the early school years led to her to being accepted at The Purcell School for Young Musicians and then Royal Academy of Music.
Whilst studying as a Junior Exhibitioner/Academician at The Royal Academy of Music, following her studies at The Purcell School for Young Musicians, having achieved Grade 8 Piano, Grade 8 Piano-Accompaniment, Grade 8 Flute, Grade 8 Recorder and Grade 8 Singing; this then led onto her achieving further, higher qualifications from the Royal Academy of Music:
L.R.A.M. Prof. Cert. (Hons) R.A.M.
Janet has now been teaching music, mainly the piano, for over 25 years.
Janet started with West Sussex Music in June 2021. She offers weekly Piano and Keyboard lessons in schools in term time.
Upon qualifying, when her studies finished, Janet took up work as a professional musician and teacher performing in a variety of settings including shows, work on cruise liners, television, concert and band work. Her work as a performing musician continues alongside her teaching.
Janet hopes to impart her own love and enjoyment of music and of playing the piano and other keyboard instruments to her pupils and students, having always considered playing music such a lovely thing to do.
Preparing music pupils and students for ABRSM exams is something Janet offers upon request.
