Education & training

Charlotte completed her BMus Music Performance degree at the University of Chichester in 2014. Since graduating, she has spent time teaching students of all ages and performing as well as conducting choirs and large scale school events across West Sussex. Specialising in early music, Charlotte also has experience and training within musical theatre and contemporary genres.

Charlotte was born on the Isle of Wight but spent all her informative years in Croydon. From the tender age of six Charlotte enjoyed music and started to play the clarinet passing her grade one exam with distinction later on that year. Whilst at primary school Charlotte spent a few years learning violin and piano, but she found, what was to become, her real passion – singing. Between the ages of nine and eighteen she worked under the tutelage of Erin O’Hanlon and then Susan Legg where she has established a speciality for baroque and early music.

Although learning musically from a young age; Charlotte’s early career started on screen with appearances in; BBC Strange, BBC Stitch Up and CITV’s Saturday morning TV. During Charlotte’s teenage years she was a regular competitor at music festivals in Croydon, Bromley and Beckenham winning different awards in classes for Classical, Musical Theatre and Chorister.

Charlotte has previously performed at the Royal Albert Hall on a Charles Darwin project and also Brahm’s Requiem conducted by Sir David Willcocks. She has also performed more locally at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, and Ferneham Hall, Fareham – as well as performing in Cathedrals such as Salisbury, Winchester and Chichester. In 2010 Charlotte won Soloist of the year award for the Royal Navy Volunteer Bands Festival.

Charlotte is an amazing teacher who encourages and nurtures her pupils, helping them achieve their very best. Can’t recommend highly enough.  Z.S

Charlotte is an excellent teacher and gives great support and advice. My daughter, who is working towards her GCSE in music, really looks forward to her lessons and her confidence has greatly improved.  M.M

Charlotte is fantastic. Both my daughters are learning with her; my 9 year old is working towards her grade 1 rock and pop and my 17 year old towards her grade 8 musical theatre. Such a lovely teacher – my daughters could not be happier.   A.C
