We are seeking dynamic and passionate music leaders and teachers to join our Music Centre teams in Bognor Regis, Chichester, Horsham and Worthing.

Our Music Centres open during term time at evenings and Saturdays and play a pivotal role in inspiring children and young people to explore the world of music and nurture their musical talents.

We are expanding the range of lessons and ensemble activities on offer for children and young people, creating an environment that fosters creativity, learning, and a love for music.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist music centre activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children and young people
  • Teach students of all ages and stages of learning in small groups or individually
  • Deliver vibrant and engaging sessions that caters to the diverse needs and interests of children and young people
  • Inspire and motivate students to explore various musical instruments, genres, and styles, fostering a lifelong appreciation for music
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and a sense of belonging among students and staff
  • Plan and organise music lessons, rehearsals, and performances, providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents
  • Build strong relationships with parents/carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and encouraging their involvement in music-related activities
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in music education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies into your delivery
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, mentoring, and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A deep passion for music and a strong understanding of how to inspire and progress young people’s musical interests
  • Proven experience in music education or related field, with a track record of inspiring and motivating children to explore music
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, to plan engaging sessions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
  • Able to adapt teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, ages, and abilities
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for music instruction and administration – including Microsoft 365
  • Commitment to inclusion and youth voice

Salary & Benefits

Duration: Permanent – hours variable each year

Location: Bognor Regis, Chichester, Horsham, Worthing

Hours of work: Weekday evenings and Saturdays – term time only

Pay: £31ph to £42ph dependent on role
