John Randall, Music Centres Manager for West Sussex Music, said:

“The Strings Day aims to inspire young string players, immersing them in inspiring music-making with others. Last year’s event with the Benedetti group was really eye opening for many of our young musicians, and we’re keen to build on that interest.”

The workshop will be a blend of intense yet calm sessions, with regular breaks. Participants will play a variety of contrasting pieces within a large string orchestra, benefiting from the beautiful acoustics of the venue. Additionally, the day will include fun musical games and activities to keep the experience engaging and enjoyable.

Last year’s Strings Day workshop leader, Rachel Cooper from The Benedetti Foundation, was impressed with the quality of our young musicians, saying:

“I have had the best two days with you all. Thank you so very much for your leadership, direction and organisation for clearly spreading quality and beautiful music education. There is so much hope.”

To ensure everyone gains the most from this workshop, some preparation is required. Music will be shared with all registered participants to practice before the event.

The day will culminate in a final sharing performance, where families are invited to witness the progress and achievements of the young musicians before pick up.
